Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Party

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in power within the city.

Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure are included.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

With an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.

Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the story’s plot—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, attacking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.

Casimir then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each member has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires revenge.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could enable the party reach locations they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in quest for the antagonist.

What’s Next?

From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to form the Seekers and Schemers parties.

Viewers can expect learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
