Much like Storm Claudia swept through the northwest the previous evening, Manchester City swept the visitors aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a convincing three-nil win for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a display that firmly established their championship potential as they strengthened their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Losses for United

This outcome marked back-to-back WSL setbacks for Skinner's side for the first time since spring 2024, placing them a significant margin off the league leaders with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.

Manchester United's capability to juggle domestic and European football with a small squad has been a widely debated subject since they qualified for the Champions League.
